Abstract

Greenhouse emissions are increasing, and the future of the earth and humanity is at stake. Many governmentsin the worldhave committed to reducecarbon emissions. At the United Nations ClimateChange Conference (COP21) in Paris, France, an agreement has been reached to hold the increase in the global average temperature to well below 2°C above pre-industrial levels.Vacuum systems are very present in industry (agrifood, pharmaceuticals, chemicals) and energy consumers. There is a lack inthe literature on this subject. This study includes an in-depth analysis of the possibilities for reducing energy consumption on vacuum systems and the financial savingsas well.It is demonstrated that energyconsumption can be reducedbetween 90% and 99%(depending on the application).
